What kind of fabric is polyester silk?

Polyester silk is polyester filament, polyester silk is a fabric woven with super hollow construction silk (hollow rate 35%~40%), it contains a lot of stagnant air, light and warm, but moderate ventilation performance, no stuffy feeling, polyester yarn is low cost, can be used for garment lining, necktie, embroidery thread, thermal underwear, etc. It is rough to touch, not as smooth as real silk, but good luster, mainly used for men's necktie.

Polyester is an important variety of synthetic fibre and the trade name for polyester fibre in China. It is a fibre forming polymer, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), prepared from purified terephthalic acid (PTA) or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and ethylene glycol (MEG) by esterification or ester exchange and condensation, followed by spinning and post-treatment. The so-called polyester filament is a length of more than 1000 metres in length, the filaments are wound into balls.

As a clothing fibre, polyester fabrics can be washed to achieve a wrinkle-free and non-ironing finish. Polyester is usually blended or interwoven with various fibres, such as cotton polyester and wool polyester, and is widely used in a variety of clothing and decorative materials. Polyester can be used in industry for conveyor belts, tents, canvas, cables, fishing nets, etc. Polyester cord for tyres, in particular, has properties close to those of nylon.

Polyester can also be used for electrical insulation materials, acid-resistant filter cloth, cloth for the pharmaceutical industry, etc. Synthetic fibres are widely used in various fields of the national economy because of their high strength, wear resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, high temperature resistance, light weight, good warmth, good electrical insulation and mould resistance.
